At Goodwill Industries of West Michigan (GIWM), we believe work has the power to transform lives by building self-confidence, independence, and a sense of place in the community. Our role is helping people reach their fullest potential by eliminating barriers to employment, providing job training and skill development, and fostering work opportunities.

GIWM offers a broad range of employment programs and services to fulfill a diverse set of community needs. Some people find their way to Goodwill because of limited job skills or work history, some have physical or developmental disabilities, while others are referred through welfare or community correction systems.

GIWM operates a designated Michigan Works! Workforce Development Center in Muskegon, supported by the State of Michigan, that offers job training and employment services to anyone interested in finding a job. The center also offers area employers recruitment and placement services and is a designated WorkKeys testing site.

GIWM also offers a compilation of successful B2B Services (business-to-business)  that advance Goodwill's mission through sustainable, earned-income enterprises. They include:

Industrial Services: ISO 9001:2008 certified, support manufacturing services such as packaging and assembly

Janitorial Services: environmentally-preferred commercial cleaning and floor care

GoodTemps: temporary staffing services agency with no fees or waiting periods for permanent hires

Lastly, GIWM operates 14 Retail Store and Donation Centers throughout West Michigan offering quality merchandise at exceptionally low prices. Over 90% of the revenue generated from the sale of generous donations of gently-used clothing and other household items from the community funds our mission of providing job training and employment services.
