![]() Studio Gallery Local artist Jill Barnes runs this studio gallery located in downtown Muskegon. Every changing this is a Muskegon must see and home of the dune sand glass ornaments.. Barnes gathers dune sand from Lake Michgan’s shores and creates an ornament that resembles the shores line with sand, water and light. The Dichroic glass reflects the light and appears to change with the surroundings. Working at the shop Barnes hand sculpts porcelain clay into one of a kind hinged figures from her imagination. She delights in custom work and can create your pet for an ornament or desk size piece and yes she can sculpt people too, much like a 3D caricature. The fused glass work has all been experimentation for Barnes, some pieces are multi-fired to enhance the colors and depth while others are layered and fired letting the esthetics of the piece determines the completeness.. Fused Dichroic jewelry, layered bowls and bright window catchers are sure to intrigue you. Enjoying the beach Barnes gathers driftwood to create one of a kind plaques and driftwood imaginary. Porcelain wild life, and fused glass inhance the beauty provided by nature. Born and raised in Muskegon, Barnes graduated from Mona Shore High School and continued in art with a BFA from Kendall College of Art and Design. With her studio gallery Barnes feels very free and blessed she is able create whatever is in her heart and mind and to live her dream. Some days that dream is painting , sculpting or firing glass while another day she is encouraging a young artist with her story. 471 Western Ave Muskegon, MI 49440 United States Other Categories: Sports & Entertainment » Art Galleries |
